Stick around until the end for some extra inspiration from a few of my blogging friends and their front porches!

Let’s get started!

Greenery and pink flowers give the front porch wreaths, garlands, and trees a romantic look.

Christmas Front Porch Decor with Romantic DIY Wreath

If you’re looking for some front porch Christmas decor inspiration that is a bit non-traditional, you’re going to love this! I’m showing you how I decorated the outside of our home in pinks and teals for the season. I started out with a DIY wreath and added Christmas-y things like faux evergreen picks, gold ball ornaments, a gold star tree-topper and some pink velvet ribbon.

Next, I draped some real evergreen Christmas garland over the light fixtures on either side of our door. To give it a bit of oomph, I added a couple of faux eucalyptus garland layers. I also put some gold lanterns by the trees with some faux candles inside. Then, I embellished them with simple faux greenery picks tied to their tops with floral wire. I decorated the seating area with pink and teal textiles. The evergreen-filled planters and faux lit Christmas trees on either side of the door complete the look. Outdoor Christmas decorations don’t have to be red and green, and I think this porch proves it!

DIY Christmas Door Swag with a Thrifted French Horn

What better way to welcome guests to your home this season than with a festive DIY Christmas door swag? Today, I’m thrilled to share a unique twist to your traditional door decor by throwing a thrifted French horn into the mix. Not only does this project add a touch of musical vintage charm, but it’s also a budget-friendly way to spread Christmas cheer. Swags are a fun alternative to traditional Christmas wreaths, and this gorgeous swag is sure to be a Christmas decor favourite for years to come. All you need is a thrifted brass ornament (or anything brass you can find that gives the right vibe), some faux greenery, ribbon, and ornaments of your choice. This is such a unique and pretty Christmas craft!

Make Real Evergreen Wreaths

If minimalism is your vibe this year, then you need to check out my tutorial for DIY real evergreen wreaths! The secret to making real evergreen wreaths is something my great opa (a master gardener) passed down to my mother, and she has now passed it down to me.

Together we used some long bendable spruce tree branches to make our base. We made small wreaths to hang on my kitchen cabinet doors, so it totally worked! You could also use a wire wreath form, but I really love the completely natural look of a branch base.

To tie the extra clippings to the wreath base and make the wreath more full, we used simple floral jute twine. It worked great, and it looks so rustic. My great opa used a similar and slightly thicker jute twine. These are perfect for hanging or as a small tabletop wreath. I am in love with them, especially since I made them myself!

Red, Green & Teal Christmas Front Porch Decorating Ideas

Looking for ideas for decorating your front door area with traditional farmhouse decor in reds, greens and teal? You’ve come to the right place! I ordered a fresh greenery wreath from Costco with plans to swap out the buffalo plaid bow for something more neutral. But when my girls saw it, they fell in love and wanted red colors all over our porch. How could I say no? For a DIY touch, I created some rustic art with an antique window frame, ribbon, ornaments and a flannel scarf. Textiles I already owned like blankets and throw pillows provided some more pops of red, and so did the cranberry garland I added to my existing faux Chrismas trees. I love how this turned out and I’m so glad I listened to my girls this time!

Simple DIY Pinecone Wreath

Winter is the perfect season to bring the outdoors and some natural elements into our decor inspiration. There’s something so perfectly rustic and timeless about using pinecones on a wreath, and this simple cone wreath is SO easy to make! Let me show you how to make this DIY Fall pinecone wreath using a grapevine wreath base, various sizes of pinecones, and a quick dry-brushing paint technique to give it lots of dimension. Not Christmas-y enough for you? Try adding some mini string lights and a pop of red berries, holly, or small ornaments. That’s the beauty of this natural wreath: you can easily change it up according to your taste. It’s the perfect easy entryway DIY that you can make your own this holiday season!

How to Make DIY Outdoor Christmas Planters

Once your fall mum planters are dried and frozen, it’s time to get rid of them, right? Wrong! Instead, try hacking them into some simple but beautiful outdoor planters for easy Christmas porch decor. The soil and roots of old planters from fall actually make an excellent base for Christmas urns full of greenery. Simply prune your old mums out of their pots and leave the roots and soil for your winter arrangement. I used a bundle of mixed greens from my grocery store for this arrangement – pine, cedar & spruce – but you could also go for a scavenger hunt in your yard for some greenery to use. Add some red Christmas bows or other red accents (or green or gold if you like that better) and some twinkle lights, and you’re good to go! This is such an easy way to add holiday cheer to your front entrance. I hope you give it a try!

Full & Gorgeous Christmas Wreath Hack

Want to put together a gorgeous Christmas wreath for your front door in less than 5 minutes? Then this Christmas wreath hack is for you! I like to order Costco Canada’s fresh pine & cedar garlands and fresh Christmas wreaths every year. If you don’t want to make a fresh greenery wreath from scratch, this is a great base to start with. After all, there’s nothing like fresh greenery at Christmastime! However, I also like to make my mass-produced wreath a little more “me” inspired, and I know some tried and true tricks to make this happen! I added a velvet bow made with Dollar Tree ribbon, an IKEA faux eucalyptus garland pushed deep into the real wreath, and some bells I found at Canadian Tire last year. These items make the wreath look extra full & gorgeous, and only took a few minutes! This DIY is a great way to inject your own style into pre-made holiday decor. I made this beautiful, full wreath in only a few minutes and I love how it turned out. Make your own version with other Christmas items that you love and see what you come up with!
