Want to change up your decor for the fall season without spending a lot of money? Your local thrift or antique store is the perfect place to find fall decor for your home on a budget! Here are some pieces to look for as you plan your autumn decorating this year.

Purchasing decor items at a secondhand store is a great way to save some money, be eco-conscious, and add history and character to your home, all at the same time. I’ve made a list of items I always check thrift stores for in the fall, and I thought it would be fun to share it with you today!

Here are some decor items to look for at thrift and antique stores for Autumn:

Rattan & Wicker Furniture & Accessories
Natural rattan and wicker items are so boho-chic, but you can also use them in country or modern decor settings. Look for larger items like chairs and stools, and smaller accessories like magazine racks and baskets. Rattan and wicker details are a great way to add texture to your fall decor!

Coloured Glassware
I’m keeping my eye out for amber-coloured glassware this season. It’s so vintage chic! If you don’t like amber, look for green or cobalt blue. Any jewel tone would be lovely for autumn, and mixing and matching vintage finds of the same colour and different shapes would make for a beautiful, budget-friendly fall table or display.

Knit Sweaters
Why would I suggest a clothing item for fall decor? Because I’m not talking about wearing these sweaters! I’m talking about upcycling them for fall crafts and decor items. I have used old sweaters to make beautiful mittens and mason jar cozies, just to name two options. You could also make a beautiful pillow cover or patchwork blanket! These items all add warmth, texture, and cozy feels to any room for fall.

Antique & Vintage Books
Books are a beautiful decor item in any season, but I especially love them for fall when I feel like being cozy inside and reading more! They are perfect for mantel, coffee table, and sideboard decor. Look for beautiful covers rather than content, since they are just to look at. For fall, you want deep blues, jewel tones, greens, oranges, or ambers. Stack them for some lovely vintage charm this season.

Copper Cookware & Accessories
Copper is a classic decor colour that will never be out of style in my home! There’s something about its old world charm that I just love, and it’s so warm and cozy for fall. In the past, I’ve been able to thrift a copper kettle, mugs, and a large pot! And remember, copper is not just for the kitchen. Use your imagination and turn your new finds into a base for a floral arrangement, a planter, or mantel decor.
Those are my favourite ideas for thrifted decor for fall! Not only will you save money, but you will add some vintage charm to your space that only the passage of time can achieve.
