Are you feeling a little behind on your Holiday prep? Don’t worry—you’re not alone! Life gets busy, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed as Christmas gets closer. But guess what? You can still create a stunningly festive home, give thoughtful gifts, and host with ease. Today, I’m sharing my favorite time-saving Christmas hacks to help you pull it all together, even at the last minute.

1. Create a Stunning Garland with a Tension Rod
If you want to wow your guests as they walk through the entrance to your dining room, try this easy tension rod garland trick. All you need is a tension rod, a couple of garlands, wire LED lights, and some ornaments. Set the rod at chest height in your archway and wrap your garlands around it, weaving in the twinkle lights for a magical glow. Use zip ties to hang ornaments or baubles for extra charm. Once it’s decorated, move the rod up to the top of your doorway—it’s a quick and stunning transformation that’ll make any entryway feel festive. Watch my Christmas hacks video to see me make this tension rod garland (and everything else in this post)!

2. Add Festive Style to Wall Sconces
Wall sconces can get a holiday makeover, too! This is an easy Christmas decorating hack to add style to your dining room. Grab two Norfolk pine stems (I love the ones from my shop, Cozy Prairie Linens Co.) and bend the stems to fit around your sconce. Fluff them out, then tie a velvet bow right onto the center of your wall sconce. It’s such a simple way to add holiday elegance to your walls.

3. Swap Out Artwork for Instant Festive Vibes
Swapping your framed art is an easy Holiday decor hack to make your home feel festive. I love using vintage-inspired Christmas art prints from Amazon. Just pop them into frames you already have and display them on shelves, mantels, or even in your entryway. It’s a quick and budget-friendly way to add beautiful Holiday decorations into your space.

4. Magical Window Glow with String Lights
For a cozy, magical touch, string LED lights around the inside of your windows. Use Command hooks to place lights along the corners and perimeter of each window. Not only does it create a warm glow indoors, but it also looks beautiful from the outside. It’s a simple way to make your home feel like a holiday wonderland.

5. Make Perfect Bows Using Cabinet Handles
If tying bows makes you nervous, don’t worry—this hack is a lifesaver! Use two cabinet handles to make the perfect bow. Wrap an 18-inch piece of ribbon around the handles, tie a knot in the middle, and trim the ends at an angle. Add ornament hooks on the back to hang your bows anywhere. You’ll have flawless bows every time, perfect for decorating garlands, your Christmas tree, or even gifts.

6. Beautiful Ribbon Christmas Tree Gift Wrap
Take your gift wrapping to the next level with this ribbon Christmas tree idea! Wrap a gift with plain or delicately patterned wrapping paper. Then, place a strip of double-sided tape vertically on a wrapped gift. Fold ribbon back and forth along the tape, widening the design as you go to create the shape of a Christmas tree. Add a small ornament or star on top, and you’ve got a gift that’s almost too pretty to open.

7. Transform Tea Towels into a Bow for Your Kitchen
Your kitchen deserves a little holiday love, too! Fold one tea towel into thirds, then in half with the seam facing the back. Take another tea towel, fold it into a narrow strip, and wrap it around the middle of the first towel to create a bow shape. Pinch the center and loop the “bow towel” around your oven handle or any vertical rail. It’s a small detail, but it adds so much charm!

8. Hand Soap & Tea Towel Hostess Gift
Need a last-minute hostess gift? Here’s one of my favourite Christmas hacks for a quick gift! Pair a pine-scented hand soap with a matching tea towel. Wrap the towel around the soap and tie it with a velvet ribbon. Add a sprig of faux greenery and a small bell for a festive touch. Attach a holiday gift tag (you can download my free printable!), and you’ve got a thoughtful and elegant gift in minutes.

9. Cozy Sock Wine Bottle Wrap
Turn a pair of cozy socks into an adorable wine bottle gift wrap. Slide one sock over the bottle and use the second sock to tie a bow around the neck. Add a sprig of greenery and a tag for the finishing touch. This works for wine, sparkling juice, or any bottle-shaped gift—it’s fun, unique, and super cozy.

10. DIY Fire Starters
For a handmade gift that’s both beautiful and practical, try making DIY fire starters. Melt wax pellets in a double boiler, then pour the wax into a muffin tin lined with wrappers. Top with dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks, twigs, and small tree clippings. Once cooled, these little fire starters look gorgeous and smell amazing when used. Package them in a jar with a ribbon and label for an easy, thoughtful gift.

11. Create a Simple Centerpiece
For a quick yet elegant centerpiece, grab three large Norfolk pine stems, fluff them out, and place them in a vase. Add battery-operated LED lit stems for a festive glow, then tie a velvet ribbon around the vase. It’s perfect for your kitchen island, dining table, or sideboard—and it takes just minutes to put together!

12. Make Whipped Cream Hot Chocolate Toppers
Want to impress your holiday guests this Christmas Eve? Whipped cream hot chocolate toppers are so easy and fun! Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pipe whipped cream into 3-inch circles. Sprinkle each circle with toppings like crushed candy canes, chocolate shavings, or sprinkles. Freeze them, and you’ll have instant toppers to elevate your holiday drinks.

13. Fuller Mantel Garlands with Cord Bundlers
If your mantel garland looks a little sparse, try this trick. Use Command cord bundlers to stick along the top of your mantel. These hold your garland securely in place, allowing you to drape it fully over the front for a lush, full look. It’s a small hack that makes a big difference!
